What are some really fun RPG games for PS3?
I love japanese style RPG's like Chrono Cross, and Tales of the Abyss. I might be getting a PS3 soon and I was wondering what some fun RPG games there are for it? I'm looking into Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata, has any one played those were they good? And are there any other suggestions anyone might have.|||Assassin's Creed: Revelations,The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,Final Fantasy XIII|||Skyrim|||not too many. ps3 games today are really violent.|||I agree! I love RPG's that are "Japanese" style. Once you get a PS3 and make an account, they actually have PS1 originals that you can buy. They have Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve, Legend of Mana, all the great stuff. For more modernized games, I'd suggest getting Disgaea, Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, Skyrim, Final Fantasy 13, Heavy Rain, and Record of Agarest War Zero.
The ones more Japanese like out of those would be all except Skyrim and Heavy Rain.

What are some good dating/horror RPG games?
I love rpg's but I only like the dating ones and the scary ones. I also like point and click games, but I feel like I've played them all. They have to be free. I just got a laptop, I want a good RPG game that's easy to use on the laptop without getting a mouse and all the hassel.
Any suggestions?
If its gonna slow my computer down to much, dont recommend it...|||You could go REAL old school and look into Angband, or one of its variants.
Angband is loosely based on the legendary game, Rogue, which was one of the first dungeon-crawler RPG type games for computers. (incidentally, freeware versions of Rogue can also be found on the internet.)
Angband expanded the dungeon, basing its monsters and story off of JRR's Similirilan and Lord Of The Rings. In this game, you must descend to level 100 of a randomly generated dungeon and kill Sauron. Along the way you'll fight an increasingly deadly variety of monsters, and their masters.
The game is free, and has spawned a number of variants, which are also free.
The game was originally played all in ASCII characters, but there are graphics you can download if you like. All commands are issued with keyboard (arrow keys, etc.)
Angband will run on any computer from the past 10 years, so I'm positive it'll work just fine on yours.|||I honestly don't know of any RPGs that you are not going to need a mouse to play. A really good game, although pretty huge as far as file size, is Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. As far as I know you WILL need a mouse though. You could just get a wireless mouse.|||Bard麓s Tale

What other rpg games are there like runescape that work good on dial up connection?
I'm talking about games where you create an avatar and walk around in different worlds and what not. My friend who lives about 30 minutes away from me has dial-up connection and his works fine except for big cities (Which the game-play doesn't require you to be in them a lot, only for quest gathering and merchants). Once you get out to explore in the game, your not playing with other people only if your in a group or have hired henchmen or heros, so its less laggy :P.|||theres a game at battleon.com which is terrible but oddly addictive :P but if you want a REALLY good basic game to play theres Visual Utopia.. this online game is amazing the only thing is its not rpg as a character you build your own city and you start colonizing and you join a clan and you have you become the best clan in the map.. and its REALLY fun.. i was addicted for like 3 years before i stopped.. i highly recommend it.|||there will be a website called maidmarian or something, the one with like the sharewoods or soemthing is good, but i dont know how to save, also there is also some combat and chat games like tanks, moon walk .etc

I need some good rpg games for the xbox 360.does anyone know any good rpg games?also can someone tell me if mass effect is worth buying and the storyline for mass effect|||I'll start with mass effect, it's a very good game with a very lengthy storyline. The major con about the game is that their are several missions that require you just to talk to people which can be boring very easily. Also, there is not much originality in missions either. It's only $20 bucks new.
Fable 2 is also a very good game with lots of quests, jobs, weapons, and clothes. The only major con is that the very ending sucks as well as the co-op.

What to choose between these ps3 rpg games?
what would i choose between these 3 ps3 rpg games? elder scrolls oblivion? dragon age origins? or lord of the rings conquest? what are the pros and cons of these games? what's the best of them all in terms of overall gaming experience and their compelling story?|||I liked Dragons Age the best off those. Lord of the rings is more of a action game then rpg, and its main apeal was the online which isn't really around anymore. Elder scrolls is a fine game but its lacking a decent story. There is a plot there, but its feels like more of a hassel then anything else and its just not interesting. There is just so much to do in that game though, my wife dropped over 100 hours into it before getting bored and her quest log was still full with stuff she hadn't finished yet.
Still the game was just boring to me, I could not get into it and the combat was simplistic at best. Dragons age combat isn't honestly any better but its pretty and I felt there was more going on even if you had less controle. DA has a great story and I loved all the origin stories you can play the very begining of the game. I had to make a charactor for each one to try them all out. The battles are fast and very easy to die in, but they do give you alot of options. Its more automated then Oblivion as you pretty much tell them what to do then let them. You can controle your entire party but more often then not your only dealing with 1 person at a time and letting the computer do the rest. Game is nowhere as long as Oblivion and has far less to do, but it was just more fun to me.
LoR sucked all around, the MP was fun for awhile...but not long enough to purchase the game. Why do all RPG games start with festivals? Or is it just me?

I wouldn't say they all begin with festivals, but a lot of them have them early in the game.

really, if you want good rpg's then you should should switch to ps3, but whatever :) 360 deals more with mmorgs (massive mulit-player online roleplaying games), but if you look at the ps3, you will see that they still haven't realeased on mmorg... if you wait a little while, then final fantasy 13 will come out for the 360 :)

How are "RPG" Mario games different from regular ones?
I thought "Super Paper Mario" for Wii looked like a pretty neat game, what with the 2-D to 3-D effects. However, I keep on hearing it described as an RPG game- a bit of a turn-off for someone who associates them with World of Warcraft. So, how does "Super Paper Mario's" RPG-styling make it different from, say, "Super Mario Galaxy," or "New Super Mario Bros?"|||Paper Mario is really, really different from Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros. You see, in Paper Mario, when you touch an enemy, the screen changes into a theater and you can choose what attacks and moves you want to use. You can use items to heal, to attack, or to freeze or make enemies asleep, etc. Also, what is awesome about Paper Mario is that in Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, you can turn into a paper boat, a paper airplane, you name it! Also, in Paper Mario you have a partner with abilities that can help you in battle and in field. For instance, Goombella, the first partner you get, can tell you about the place you are in and if you stand near a person Goombella can tell you info about the guy and stuff. Also, in battles, you can appeal, run away, charge, jump on enemies, ground pound, use you hammer, use items, etc. Oh and no offense but you should get Paper Mario The Thousand Year door for the Gamecube instead of Super Paper Mario for the Wii. Basically most videogames from Japan that is adventure is really RPG games. In the case of Mario and Sonic type games. Even shooters are RPG's.
In the west, including China, and Korea. Many adventures games lead you in exploring a haunted house, or something like that. Being able to interact with objects.
Paper Mario on the N64 is basically the unofficial sequel to Mario RPG on the SNES. Since Sqaure owned a license on all the non-nintendo characters, they had to reshape it into there own. Super Paper Mario is again an RPG but in the case of an adventure game.
So to answer your questions, in comparison to Zelda, Soul Revear, WOW, PSO this is not an RPG game. However in japan a game like WOW, is no diffent then Mario.
There is no differnce between, all three mario games. Since they all fall under the RPG that is from Japan. There has been various of other Adventures games in the west that does the same exact thing.
Imagine if you could strip a board game down to it's bare bones, and make everything as simple as possible. That is how you should conisder these adventure games RPG's. It does not mean your going to like them, or you need to play them. Like how I prefer Wario over Mario. Or Bomberman over Megaman. You do not need to play every single RPG/Adventure game out there.

Asides that Paper Mario is a direct sequel from Mario RPG and has attributes.|||It's considered an rpg because you upgrade your stats through experience you earn and take turns attacking and collect items like mushrooms(potions). But as the paper mario series progressed the games got less like an rpg. Super Paper Mario isn't really an rpg and it is my least favorite of the paper mario series. If you could somehow play the original Paper Mario on the N64 I would highly advise you play, it is the greatest game of all time. What are some good Rpg games online?

Both are Vampire based, though they aren't very graphic enhanced, more a text based or grid based game.
Guild Wars is another I like.|||Those are the main ones I can think of. I know there are more. Your best bet is to search for Vampire Based RPGs. Trust me with Twilight coming out there will be a TON of text based vampire games popping up all over the place.

Both are Vampire based, though they aren't very graphic enhanced, more a text based or grid based game.
Guild Wars is another I like.|||Those are the main ones I can think of. I know there are more. Your best bet is to search for Vampire Based RPGs. Trust me with Twilight coming out there will be a TON of text based vampire games popping up all over the place.

What are some Good RPG games for the Xbox 360 or wii?
Any good RPG games you know of?|||I only play Wii, and so I can just suggest to you Zelda, the Twilight Princess. That's all. More mature RPGs that are more popular are things like Mass Effect or Oblivion, but I always have more fun playing JRPGs (Japan Role Playing Games) which are more kiddish, but I always fell in love with the story lines more and the cartoonish gameplay/graphics I just recently started playing Tales of Vesperia and I recommend it to anyone it is such a great game to fall in love with. My biggest suggestion is rent before buy I bought Mass Effect before renting and ending up almost forcing myself to play through it.
P.S. although it has its doubters I have high hopes for Fable 2 and Fallout 3 (you should search gamespot for those and see if they interest you) they release later this month.|||For the 360

What are some good free online RPG adventure games?
Looking for a Free online RPG game. Don't mind downloading it as long as it doesn't cost anything. I've played ShadowTale and didn't like it too much. It was too repetitive with no real depth. I played Fiesta and I liked that quite a bit except it messed up my computer so I had to delete it.
Anyone know of any free online rpgs that I can download (of play straight online)?

Is fable 2 worth buying for someone who rarely plays RPG games?
i rarely play Fantasy/RPG games, but fable 2 looks interesting. i like the idea on how you can have a family, a dog by your side, and just explore. is the game worth buying? what are the pros and cons? after beating the story, can you still explore, and do jobs, etc?|||Fable 2 is a fantastic game but seeing how you rarely play RPG games you might find it a tad boring after a few hours of play.
when you finish the game you can still continue to do jobs and explore but by the time you finish the game probably have explored every map. but the game dose have replay value because there are a lot of decisions you have to make in the game that will effect how things will happen.
depending on what you like to do in games will effect how much you will like fable 2, if you like to play first person shooters like halo and call of duty 4 you probably get board with the combat system is fable 2 (button mashing). so watch some of the game play videos on you tube to help make up your mind

Other than that I am still going to recommend Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Sky, while it is technically turn based, the way the system works and the characters animate, the game just plays a lot smoother and is much more fun to play. What are some good fantasy RPG games?
I'm looking for some good fantasy RPG games for either PC or PS2, but I don't know of many games so I can't look for them myself. I've played Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft, and MapleStory so it should be among those lines. Thanks for all suggestions.

Their is Latale whice is a better version of Maplestory In my opnion.
Wonderking It's a game that is trying to compete with Maplestory with diffrent Style of art and a diffrent gameplay. It's better then Maplestory But I think Latale beats them both.
Their is Runes of Magic.
The person that made this game put everything he loved about mmorpg into this.
So it's going to be quite fun or not. It reminded my quite a bit of WoW but it's free.
And then theirs Perfect World whice I belive is quite fun. Can't really give my input on this I havent really played it much yet.
As fro the ps2.
If you played the Final Fantasy. Then might as well say FFX, X-2 (Alot of people hated this one but I loved it.
And FFXII again quite a bit of people disliked this one and other loved it.

Fps and rpg games what would be suitable for my computer?
I Got my own laptop and to be honest, its the Compaq nx6120 HP and I need some fps games and I'm running low on disk space... So are there some good FPS or RPG games that I can play here? The combat system is a bit more traditional, but it has a good mix of turn based strategy and traditional turn based RPG combat. The story is also pretty interesting as well, as are almost all JRPGs.

This is post apocalyptic shooter where you are trying to survive. Another is Fable 2. This was probably the most popular RPG when it came out. 3 is coming out real soon. Dragon Age Origins is a real good game but you are killing dragons using sorcery and its a lot like World of Warcraft. Mass effect 2 is also awesome. I would definitely tell you to get that game. Its real star trek like. Dont know if your into that kinda stuff though.

How come RPG games are not multiplayer?
Now admittedly, the first rpg game I ever bought and played was Mass Effect 2 for the Ps3 as a matter of fact I am playing it now and loving it, but it has come to my attention that multiplayer for rpgs is unehard of? But why? I think this game would be great for split-screen co-op multiplayer at least, given that most rpgs play like this, how come this genre is always single player?|||MMO's are basicly rpg's, i do agree mass effect would be great for multyplayer, but the point of a rpg is to sell the story, and make you belive you are in it. I dont think that would be possible if there are two sheperds running around (although if you could controll a squad mate that would be cool)

Are there any games that do both?|||Final Fantasy XIV will be released Spring 2011 for the PS3, and it will be an MMORPG.|||demon souls is a great rpg with a very unique online multplayer, it is like a hack and slash game but it is very difficult, i mean, it will get so extremely difficult that it actually makes it fun. there is also a new final fantasy mmorpg coming to ps3 which will be awesome.

Are There Any Other Online Games Like Runescape that are Free. Cuz I'm Kinda Gettin Bored with Runescape %26amp; Wondered if there was Any Other RPG's Out There That are Cool.|||If by that you mean browser based RPG, yes. Runescape has a unique java engine among the browser based RPGs, thought, so don't expect much from the games I'll refer. There's also Bang Howdy! (that I wouldn't call a RPG), that is the only other browser based java engine game I know.
To play games in flash, there are Dragon Fable and Adventure Quest (In both you have to pay to have full access to the game, and notice that Dragon Fable is still under construction and that it's hard for non-members to login into AQ). There are also those community based flash games (that some people consider to be MMORPGs) that are becoming really popular: Gaia Online (that I already played and that is really cool), ClubPenguin, PuzzlePirates, and i think that Habbo goes the same way; in all of this games you create an avatar and play games like fishing to get money and personalize those avatars.
There鈥檚 also the pure browser based ones: Tibia is a fairly popular game, BiteFight and Knightfight are OK. Travian is a strategy MMOG, also pretty good. Now I've lived most of my life playing those simple nintendo games. So now I've to a new company: Square Enix Games like Final fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. The Problem is, I am terrible at these games. When I think something very slight goes wrong then I start a new game. So can anyone PLZ give me some tips on how to run through rpg games smoothly. My main priority now is Final Fantasy X. Can anyone plz give me tips. No walkthroughs though. I like to beat my games without walkthroughs. Plus my computer is far away from where i play video games (well where I live) So plz. I even wasted my time to ask this question. If someone has good tips that they can share with me then THANK YOU!!! I'd thank u so much that i'd nominate you president. plz answer ;)|||set level goals for yourself and run around fighting. that's how i do it anyway, it sounds lame but it really helps as far as having characters leveled enough. also, the game should have descriptions for moves on the grid. just read it and if u like it, get it when you get to it. i always plan ahead. i go around what's somewhat near (no more than a grid or 2 away) my character and whichever set of options i like the most, i move toward. characters like tidus should have a mix of brawn and random useful magics (haste, lighter healing, etc.), whereas auron is usually more straight-forward power with strength enhancing spells. and yuna gets more white magic (cure, protect, esuna) and lulu isa black mage (fire, water, thunder, ice, demi), you get the drift. the items should have descriptions accompanying them. but the important ones are: anything with "potion" in it heals, to different degrees, phoenix down brings back a fainted comrad, antidote heals poison, echo screen heals silence, eye drops heal blind, etc. potions and phoenix downs are the ones you MUST have though. hope this helps. if not, id be willing to go over the game more with you.|||In Final Fantasy, nothing can ever really go wrong. You can always go back and fix your mistake that you think you have made (Well, almost always. There are a couple times in Final Fantasy VIII I think it was, that you can't go back and do a couple of things that would make the game easier int he future). Also, Kingdom Hearts is (I believe) impossible to make a mistake in because there is only one way to do things but with extras (Ex. Olympus Colosseum).|||What I've done before, for times like getting stuck (where you can't travel back to previous area's or screwed up in some way in that regard), I'd save everytime I saw a save point, but use two or three different slots, never overwrite the immediately past save though, always the oldest of the 2-3. Another thing with being weak is don't run from battles a lot. Fight all random encounters so you know you SHOULD be strong enough, and if you just can't get past a certain spot, dedicate some time to JUST fighting monsters. That may end up saving you some time and enabling some smooth sailing, for a bit at least.|||Find A strategy that works and just do that strategy the whole time and it should be A LOT easier

Perfect world was an alright game, the races had unique traits, and the classes were decent. However things seemed very slow (progressions wise) and the community seemed a bit lacking. Not to mention that learning your way around the areas can be a little frustrating at times.
Shin Megami Tensei (Tensai?) Is a good one. The mechanics are easy to get the hang of, you can use guns or blades, and you can collect and raise demons as companions. The game also has cinematics and a storyline. The only bad thing I noticed is that the characters themselves don't seem to get a lot of skills. It mostly focuses on which demons you choose to capture, and how you raise them.
Runes of Magic is a very interesting game for todays free mmo's. Its pretty traditional in the fact that you can be a ranger melee or magic class. (There are more classes than just the three) Yet it also uses a few techniques most games dont. You can buy your own house, and add more floors, walls, furniture, trophies, etc. Also the guilds in the games get their own expanses of land, and have their own castle. The guilds can then go to war with each other. If you find armor that you think looks really cool, but you find better armor that looks bland, fear not. They have a system that lets you infuse armor with stats from other pieces of armor. You could put the better defense from the bland armor onto the armor you think looks cool.
Bloodymare Requiem I had quite a lot of fun with this one. This game is a bit darker. The graphics are good, and the creatures you fight can be quite grotesque. When you kill an enemy, you will potentially cut an apendage off, and the corpse ragdolls. When you get farther in you collect parts of demons, and can use them to transform (temporarily) into a demon yourself. The only bad thing is that at first some of the gear you find looks really lame.
These are just a few options I recomend, hope you find one you like!|||It's not a traditional rpg, but it's a great game and it's free. It's called Cave Story. It's a Metroid-Castlevania type game. Very good, especially since it's free.

There's another PS3 RPG called White Knight Chronicles and it's coming out next year as well. White Knight Chronicles is developed by Level 5 ( they developed Dark Cloud)

Valkyria Chronicles - November|||Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy versus XIII aren't coming out until 2009 at least.
There's another PS3 RPG called White Knight Chronicles and it's coming out next year as well. White Knight Chronicles is developed by Level 5 ( they developed Dark Cloud)
Fallout 3 is coming out later on this Fall, and Obilvion is already avaliable on the PS3.|||Oblivion is a really good game. The down side is that i think there is no online play for Oblivion which i think it would be cool if there was.|||I heard a NEW oblivion is coming out, to find out whats coming out go to ps3.com|||Most of the good RPGs are on the 360, FInal Fantasy XIII is really the only notable one coming out for the PoS3, which isn't even coming out until 2009 or later.

Ive played games like Runescape, adventure quest, dragon fable (i think that's what it is called), mech quest and mabinogi. It's a very cheap online game you can buy and you can customize your character and choose your class, such as an Archer. :)|||try Dragon Age Origins. you can make your own female character and she would be able to use a bow.|||Runescape works for me, its free too! Theres also World Of Warcraft (search blood elves) etc.

I have Bayonetta, Assassin's Creed I and II, The Last Remnant, Samurai Warriors 2: Empires, and am going to buy Tales of Vesperia and FFXIII, so what else is there similar to these?? (I am aware that some of these aren't rpg, but i really love these games.)|||fallout

What exactly is a Role Playing Game in video games and RPG elements? Can u give some Wii examples of RPG games
I always hear people talking about video games that are role playing or RPG games. I don't really understand what they mean by this. What makes a RPG game a RPG game? What are some of the elements of an RPG game? Can you give some expamples of Wii games that are RPG or have RPG elements?

an RPG usually gives you control of multiple characters. These may be controlled as a group (like in Final Fantasy 12: Revanant Wings), one at a time, or at different times in the game. You usually control the main character(s) for the entire game, like in Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. There is also usually a level and experience system, and a journey to save the world/country/etc., though it differs. You usually can collect different weapons, characters, armor, and whatnot, and the characters usually have special abilities/techniques that are always available or available at different times.
